safety rules

We just had an earthquake and I realised how pitifully unprepared we are for any emergency:

Does anybody have any tips about how to be prepared?

Hi.

Google it, BEV :).

Found this site:

http://www.fema.gove

http://www.fema.gov/hazard/earthquake/eq_during.shtm

There are a few websites there which help you plan an evacuation kit and essential emergency supplies as well.

Hi, mummyjaan,

I did google and found some really fathru advice like stay calm! Will check the site you mentioned.

Thanks Asha. Yes, we need to be better prepared, much though one hates to think about calamities!

I found this on the Red Cross website...earthquakes can be scary,
I lived in Japan for 4 months and felt 3 minor quakes in that time..ugh scared me to death.

anyway, hope this helps.
